Block Blast strategy

How a row and column clear together in Block Blast

A single square can finish both a row and a column. Identify both complete lines on the board immediately after placement, then clear them together. Clearing one line first can hide the other in a manual calculation.

Find the shared gap

In the crossing example, row 1 and column 1 each have the same single gap: their intersection. A square placed there completes both lines.

Check the result

After the placement, row 1 and column 1 are empty. Every occupied cell outside them remains. The intersection is one board cell even though it completes two lines.

Plan the space it creates

An empty row and an empty column may create useful placements for the other pieces. They do not guarantee that a 3×3 square will fit: check the surrounding cells as well.

Separate lines from points

The planner reports cleared rows and columns, not the official game score. Combo rules, streaks, modes and versions can change scoring. Do not treat the planner’s recommendation as a points prediction.
